I’m a Graphic Designer and Graduate from the Arts University Bournemouth.

Introduction.

Since 2003 I have been living and working in Salzburg, Austria, Aschaffenburg, Germany, and more recently in Bournemouth, England actively seeking design based adventure in both permanent and freelance employment.

This life changing experience has given me the chance to immerse myself within a new culture, experience the Austrian, German and British design industry first-hand and also enabled me to broaden my perspectives, thinking of design as a flexible medium for someone who is on the lookout for new experiences.

I am currently a Graphic Designer and Printer at Stripes Poole Ltd.

Stripes Poole Ltd

September 2022 - Current

  • Stripes are based in Holton Heath in Poole and are signage and branding specialists.

  • My job as Graphic Designer is to study design briefs and determine requirements.

  • Work closely with the clients discussing ideas and visions.

  • Identify the best ways to illustrate and communicate the clients vision while complying with design best practices.

  • Create a wide range of designs on an A4 proof for the client to review and make revisions based on feedback received.

  • Review designs for errors before they are printed and installed.

  • Print, laminate and cut out designs.

  • Order stock when required.

  • Manage the online booking system.

  • Clean and maintain the machinery.

  • Help with the signage installations.

September 2018 - July 2022

  • Think Signs have been specialising in the design, manufacture and installation of bespoke signage across the UK for over 20 years.

  • My job as Graphic Designer was to study design briefs and determine requirements.

  • Worked closely with the client discussing ideas and visions.

  • Identified the best ways to illustrate and communicate clients’ vision while complying with design best practices.

  • Created a wide range of designs on an A4 proof for the client to review and make revisions based on feedback received.

  • Reviewed designs for errors before they were printed or published.

  • Updated the company website, adding fresh new content daily.

  • Kept up to date with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies.

Think Wraps Ltd

September 2018 - July 2022

  • Worked closely with the client discussing ideas and visions for their vehicles.

  • Identified the best ways to illustrate and communicate clients’ vision while complying with design best practices.

  • Created a wide range of designs on an A4 proof for the client to review and make revisions based on feedback received.

  • Reviewed designs for errors before they were printed and installed.

  • Prepared the signed off artwork for print, exporting the files to the printer.

  • Updated the company website and social media, adding fresh new content daily.

  • Produced marketing and promotional materials.

EcoClub

January 2013 - March 2018

  • Developed a new brand identity with distinctive graphic style and tone for all company communications.

  • Designed sales-driven programmes and promotions to facilitate team objectives.

  • Generated benchmarks and comprehensive client campaign reports through evaluation of digital analytics derived from Google Analytics, Open Ad Stream, Facebook Insights and Instagram Insights.

  • Updated the company website and social media, adding fresh new content daily.

  • Designed, organised and set up 8 trade shows around the UK annually at the NEC, ExCel and Olympia.

  • Helped with telephone sales.

  • Produced the Company Newsletter.

  • Photographed and edited images for the product catalogues.

Buero-Ka Werbeagentur

June 2009 - July 2012

  • Büro Ka is a creative design agency based in Aschaffenburg, Germany. The studio produces work for a wide range of high end clients specialising in designer fashion, eyewear and contact lenses.

  • Designed print materials such as brochures, banners and signs.

  • Worked closely with clients to define marketing and design visions for various graphic design projects.

  • Airbrushed images and edited photos in Photoshop.

  • Utilised extensive knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to create high-quality images.

  • Every Friday I made a successful Blog and was offered my very own monthly page in Frizz Magazine to write about my experiences of living in Germany.

  • Translated various documents from English into German.

  • Updated the social media accounts daily.

  • Helped with photo shoots.

Walter Werkzeuge

June 2006 - December 2009

  • Walter Werkzeuge is a large import and export company based in Salzburg, Austria, that produces power tools for Aldi and Lidl Supermarkets.

  • Photographed all the new products using state of the art equipment.

  • Edited product photos in Photoshop.

  • Designed product packaging in InDesign.

  • Worked on the customer helpline offering technical support.

  • Product Management.

  • Built collaborative working relationships with project teams.

  • Utilised in-depth knowledge and understanding of client contracts to manage project delivery.

  • Delivered presentations and briefings to senior teams and incorporated changes into project workflows.

  • Translated various documents from English into German.

  • Liaised with the Aldi and Lidl UK Head office daily.

Sevisto Media Design

Sep 2003 - June 2004

My Junior Internship at Sevisto Media Production was my first job after arriving in the beautiful city of Salzburg.

I had recently graduated from the Arts University in Bournemouth and the experience of working in a new country, meeting new people and making new friends was an amazing experience.

I worked 30 hours a week and produced a wide range of work including website design, advertisements, brochures, magazines, and corporate identity. I am still in contact with many people from my time at Sevisto and often visit them when I go to Salzburg every year.
